Plate Flatness Gauge

Plates are measured for flatness. The vision system is installed after the shear and a graphical map of flatness is produced. Plates outside specifications initiate an alarm to the user.

Hot Rail and Section Surface Inspection Gauge

System installed prior to cooling bed. The sections pass through a ring holding adjustable cameras and flood lights. Provides surface inspection and reads stamped characters. Via optical filtering, the rail profile is enhanced and visually appears cold. The system saves images of the entire rail. Approximately 2000 images are stored of each rail, compressed and made available to the user.

Bar Length Gauge for the Run Out Table

System detects when the bar is moved from the Roller Table to the Walking Beams. Reference marks provide the calibration in every measurement cycle. Cameras are placed above the cooling bed in the roof.

Slab Width

Billet Ident Reader

A single or multiple camera system is trained to read the dot or spray marking on the steel product. Installed after the marking machine, the system is used to verify the marking so that at other points in the process, the product will be automatically identified.

Billet Ident Reader

Bloom Crop Shear System
(Hot Metal Length Measuring System)

The Bloom Cropping system covers the area at the shear and measures the distance from the shear to the end of the material. The system recognises bone ends or fishtails and has several algorithms to recognise the extreme point to eliminate git ends.
