Metal Detection in Confined Areas
The Series 310 Industrial Detector operates by monitoring the collapse of a powerful inductive pulse enabling the detection of individual and small profiled metal bar on wide roller tables at ranges of greater than 120mm.
The Series 310 Industrial Detector has three times the range of inductive sensors and is totally unaffected by changes in ambient temperatures. Various lengths of narrow profiled glass fibre Coils PTFE Coil Plates are available to accommodate hot product in high ambient of up to 200°C. Above this temperature water cooled stainless steel coils can be provided if necessary.
An important feature of the Series 310 Metal Detector is the ability to mount the detector coil in confined areas within the metalwork of the Rolling Table close to and completely surrounded by metal framework. Where rollers are close to the mounting point, the rotational influences is simply shielded by placing a metal beam between the coil and the roller. The detector coil can even be mounted in an open steel box for complete protection. Dimensions of these are provided by the manufacturer according to the size of the detector coil.
This detector is the ideal replacement for photocells mounted above the line at each side. Also replaces long range Inductive Sensors where they are unable to detect single bars at adequate range, or where the gap between rollers is too small to allow their use, whereas the Series 310 can tune out all surrounding metalwork.
The Series 310 Enhanced Range Pulsed Induction Detector provides a low cost yet sensitive and efficient detection system for detecting small bar on the roller tables. Installation is simple and straightforward. The Series 310 Detector can be custom-built with a narrow profile and in lengths up to 4m for specific purposes.
The Series 310 Controller is connected to the Remote Coil via low loss coaxial cable and as can be mounted up to 30m away from the line it is also ideally suited for cooling beds.
