LT200HD Programmable Laser Proximity Detector
Ideal replacement for photocells
The LT200HD Laser Proximity Detector detects static and passing product with of temperatures of up to 1200°C with both programmable relay and analogue outputs. It is intended for use in harsh environments at distances of up to 10m to an accuracy of better than ±10mm. As a visible Class II Laser, this enables easy alignment of the LT200HD by use of a visible red laser.
Is the ideal replacement for photocells as the LT200HD Laser removes the need for alignment of Transmitter and Receiver or reflector. Furthermore, as it operates via a fine visible laser beam, the products leading and trailing edges are detected to a high accuracy regardless of location across the roller table. Having a detection range of 10m also means this laser can be mounted at a safe distance from the line, yet still provide highly reliable product detection.
The LT200HD connects to a 24VDC supply and is supplied as standard with an RS232 serial programming interface for setting the distance trip threshold as well as the span of the 4 -20 mA analogue output. Programmed by the user to a distance trip point between a range of 0.25m - 10m. The relay output has a N.O. SPST contact rated at 115VAC/5A.
The LT200HD is a robust device in an AL6 cast aluminium housing rated to IP66/DIN 89011 with an IP65 rated connector socket. The housing has a large air cooled side chamber separated from the electronic circuitry compartment.
An air purge inlet is located in the rear of the cast aluminium housing and the air passes though this chamber, cooling the electronics and vents out in the front of the lens providing air purging. Further cooling of the air can be accomplished with the use of an in-line Vortex tube air cooler that is available on request.
Additional cooling can be provided by using a copper water coolant radiator mounted in the side chamber, with an air inlet fitted in the front of the housing and venting through the nozzle in front of the lens.
