Series 4000 Remote Photo-Switch
Metal Detection in Confined Areas
The Series 4000 Remote Photo-Switches are the ideal flexible solution for where the product is too hot to use Proximity Sensors or the more normal Photo-Electric Sensors as well as where the product does not radiate enough Infra-Red for detection by hot product sensors.
The Series 4000 Remote Photo-Switch is also ideal for detecting cold product and has excellent steam penetration due to the use of powerful Gallium Arsenide Transmitter cells. The cells produce a pulsed Infra-Red beam that penetrates steam over long distances and is not compromised by lens contamination.
Available in four main Lens connection formats with the stainless Transmitter and Receiver Lenses connecting to a single watertight IP66 aluminium enclosure. The Lenses are connected according to Model via either Stainless flexible Optic Lead or high temperature spec. two core silicone electrical leads of up to 30 mtr length.
There are three lens mounting options available; Air Purged, Air Purged/Air Cooled and Air Purged/Water Cooled Lens Mounts. Various Mounting brackets/blocks or a universal Lift & swivel stands are available to help with adjustment and alignment of the lenses.
Where used in Barrier Mode, the lenses can be mounted up to 25m apart, in Retro Mode up to 10m and in Diffuse Mode up to 4m from the product. Various lens mounts accommodate single or dual mounting to enable the user to select exactly the right combination of lenses and mounts to suit their needs.
The Series 4000 uses a pair of lenses either rated to 55°C or 400°C (depending upon lens choice), between which the product passes. The robust lenses allow for up to 50mm mis-alignment and can be configured as Thru-Beam, Retro-Reflective or a Diffuse device where detection is directly off the product required. All lenses are sealed Ø25mm tubular stainless steel housings and both Optic Lead or electrical connection leads are ordered to length.
The Series 4000 Photo-Switches are very flexible as available with single or dual Controllers, Transmitter and Receiver Lenses in electronic or non-electronic form that are then connected using either silicone leads and/or stainless steel sheathed Optic Leads. This allows the mounting of the lenses close to the product, yet keeping the controller in an accessible area. Connections can be via up to 30m of silicone cable or 15m of Optic Lead or combined with the use of a separate Transmitter Module that allows connection to the Optic Lead via Silicone electrical cable that enable long cable runs under the rolling table or Castor line.
These Series 4000 Photo-Switches have a Relay Output with 5A/250VAC SPDT contact and are available for 110VAC, 240VAC or 24VDC operation.
