Compact CCD Measurement
MLC Laser Triangulation Meters (LTMs) are compact devices with integrated Laser Transmitter and CCD Camera receiver providing via digital signal processing very precise, fast measurement. Depending upon the model, cover ranges of 16 - 1100mm. Typical applications are Thickness Measurement, Weight & Volume Control, Tension Control, Roll Diameter, Profile Measurement, Vibration Monitoring and Molten Metal Level Control at resolutions of between 0.0008 mm and 0.5 mm.
For high temperature environments, there are models which measure off surfaces temperatures of up to 1250°C and 1500°C respectively.
The products distance is calculated by an internal CCD array that measures the position of the emitted laser spot (Ø1 - 4mm depending on model) focused on the product. LED indicators show whether the product is central in the measuring range or outside of the measuring range. The MLC LTMs can be synchronised in pairs to provide an indication of change of product width or thickness.
These LTM’s have a wide range of usage including measurement off surfaces where other devices fail and are ideal for measuring off plastic, wood, glass, paper, foam, rubber, textiles, food products, cold products, hot or molten metals as well as liquids.
These MLC Laser Triangulation Meters are user programmable and incorporate various selectable filters such as Level Mode etc. One important selectable function is Group Mode calculating a running average from a number of user specified measuring points whilst discounting user-defined bad measuring points. Data output via RS232 or RS422 and analogue generated in real time from the average values calculated at the measuring frequency (2kHz - 2000 times every second). For added accuracy, the Select 5 model operates at 5kHz and the Select 10 model at 10kHz.
Total Gauge solutions are available for providing width or thickness as an absolute value with the option of incorporating automatic master sample calibration to provide exceptionally long term accuracy.
Secondary protective Environmental Enclosures are available including Air Purged, Air Cooled or Water Cooled with Air Purging.
