Visible Red Laser LDM
The LT2000 Laser Distance Meters operate via Class II visible red laser beam using phase shift measurement to provide the distance measurement. Depending upon the Model, they operate off most natural surfaces at up to 30 mtrs and 150 mtrs off a white reflector panel.
These Laser Distance Meters are used for laser measurement on applications such as Crane positioning, Collision Avoidance and for positioning of Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems. Also, these are the ideal Laser Distance Meters for measuring product position or its length and width as well as for silo level. The LT2000VHT is intended for measuring hot metal product at up to 1200°C , even inside the furnace.
The LT2000 LDM works by comparing the diffused reflected light off the target in with reference to the transmitted laser beam frequency. The LT2000 then uses this phase shift to calculate the distance with high accuracy, typically within ±2 - 6mm with repeatability of ± 0.5mm and resolution is 0.1mm. A user scalable 4-20mA analogue output is also provided.
There are several Models in different housings to suit the intended usage with each Model being available in two measuring time formats (the LT2000 and the LT2020) of 10 Hz and 50 Hz depending on the target nature and velocity. This enables these LDMs to be used on a wide variety of laser measurement tasks via either the RS232 and RS4223 serial interfaces or the configurable 4-20mA analogue output as a stand-alone device. Self-diagnostics are incorporated to ensure accuracy is maintained.
The LT2000SO is intended for collision avoidance, crane control and automated warehouses, whilst the LT2000 SD is for highly corrosive areas. The LT2000 ST, LT2000HT and LT2000VHT are for use in the Rolling Mill. Where the LDM is used for automated positioning control in warehouse transport systems a white reflective target is required. The device is remotely controlled either via the Serial Interfaces (RS232/RS422) or by using external triggering. Optional ProfiBus Interfaces are available.
The standard LT2000 Models can be programmed to a measuring time of up to 100ms and the faster LT2020 Models to a much faster measuring time of 10ms off a white reflective target plate as intended for crane long travel and Lift control where laser measurement the preferred solution.
The LT2000 ST Laser Distance Meter is cooled through an air chamber that vents out in front of the lens. Further cooling where very high ambient is accomplished by using an optional In-line Vortex tube Air Cooler or a sealed water Coolant radiator combined with air purge in the front of the housing for extremely harsh environments. The LT2000HT and LT200VHT is normally provided in this format.
The versatile LT2000 LDM is available in various housing options depending upon the usage requirements. Namely:
LT2000SO – Low cost Model in a robust aluminium base mounted housing.
LT2000SP - Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester corrosion proof housing.
LT2000ST - Most robust Model in aluminium housing with incorporated cooling chamber and air purge for measuring of product up to 600°C.
LT2000HT - As robust LT2000ST for measuring hot product at up to 900°C.
LT2000VHT - As robust LT2000ST for measuring of product up to 1250°C.
LT2000EXD - Laser Distance Meter in Explosion Proof housing rated for Class I, Groups B, C, D; Class II, E, F, G; Class III, NEMA 7BCD, NEMA 9EFG and ATEX IIC. Housing constructed from Copper Free Aluminium. Watertight rated to IP66/NEMA 4X.
