The LT2000 Laser Distance Meter operates via Class II visible red laser beam using comparative phase measurement to provide distance measurement. Depending upon the model, operates off natural surface at up to 30 mtrs and 150 mtrs off a reflector.
The LT2000 LDM is used for applications such as Crane positioning, Collision Avoidance, positioning of Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems. Also, for measuring the length, width, silo level or position of product at up to 1200°C where the LT2000HT would be used.
The LT2000 works by the target being measured returning the diffused reflected light that is subsequently compared with a reference signal. The LT2000 then uses this phase shift to calculate the distance with high accuracy, typically within ±2 - 6mm with repeatability of ± 0.5mm and resolution is 0.1mm. A user scalable 4-20mA analogue output is available.
There are 6 models in the LT2000 Laser Distance Measurement Meter family. Measuring speed is in two formats. The LT2000 and the LT2020, this allows them to handle a variety of measurement tasks via serial interface or with analogue output as a stand-alone device. Self-diagnostics are incorporated to ensure it maintains accuracy.
There are various distance measurement modes for continuous tracking. The device is remotely controlled either via the Serial Interfaces (RS232/RS422) or by using external triggering manually. Optional ProfiBus Interfaces are available. Where the LDM used for automated positioning control of warehouse transport systems a white reflective target is required.
The standard LT2000 models can be programmed to a measuring time of up to 100ms depending on the surface reflectivity. The faster LT2020 models have a much faster measuring time of 10ms fro operation of a white reflective target plate and intended for crane long travel and Lifts.
Cooling of the LT2000 range is typically through an air chamber and out through a vent in front of the lens. Further cooling can be accomplished by using an optional in-line vortex tube air cooler or a sealed water Coolant radiator combined with air purge in the front of the housing for extremely harsh environments.
The versatile LT2000 LDM is available in various housing options depending upon the usage requirements. Namely:
LT2000SO – Lowest cost version in an aluminium base mounting housing.
LT2000SP - Comprising a Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester corrosion proof housing.
LT2000ST - Aluminium housing. Models target reflector or product up to 600°C.
LT2000VHT - Aluminium housing. Models target reflector or product up to 1350°C.
LT2000HT - Aluminium hosing. Model for measuring hot product at 1200°C.
LT2000EXD - Explosion Proof housing rated for Class I, Groups B, C, D; Class II, E, F, G; Class III, NEMA 7BCD, NEMA 9EFG and ATEX IIC. Housing constructed from Copper Free Aluminium. Corrosion resistant Polyester Powder Coating with Stainless Steel Hardware. This housing is watertight rated to IP66/NEMA 4X.
