This Laser Distance Meter Sensor operates via Time of Flight (TOF) Class II visible red laser and incorporates four digit display and programming keypad removing the need for external PC programming. This Laser Distance Meter Sensor incorporates a photonic mixer device (PMD) whereby the Sensor elements and receiver electronics are all integrated on a single silicone chip resulting in an exceptionally low cost Laser Distance Meter Sensor.
Whereas traditional Time of Flight Sensors operate by electronics external to the photo-diode, the introduction of this smart pixel receiver element results in an exceptionally low cost Laser Sensor. The LP100 Laser Distance Meter Sensor incorporates dual programmable digital outputs as well as programmable analogue output.
Two Distance Meters are available; one Laser Sensor for operating off natural surfaces up to 10 mtrs range and another for operating off a prism reflector at 75 mtrs range. Repeatability of detection is +-8mm to +- 40mm according to range and accuracy of detection between +- 15mm and +- 50mm depending on range and update rate. Sampling rate frequency is adjustable between 1-50 Hz This low cost Laser Distance Meter Sensor is the ideal replacement for photocells and other detection devices due to it being a low cost Laser. Also, it is well suited for collision avoidance on cranes. For ease of adjustment an optional dual axis mounting platform is provided with dual axis adjustment.
A unique feature of this Laser Sensor is that it can be programmed to provide an alarm only when product within range and to ignore out of range target. A further unique feature is that as the Laser beam spot size is only 6mm, this Laser Distance Meter Sensor will accurately detect small objects such as bottle tops or even nuts on metal panels as incorporates background suppression. Via the incorporated display and keypad, the operator can programme both the digital switching outputs in logic, range and hysteresis function. Furthermore, the zero offset and the span of the 4-20mA analogue output (0-10 VDC available), are both user programmable via the built in keypad. In addition, the user can define the zero point independent of the analogue output offset.
The LP100 Laser Distance Meter Sensor is available for both 24 VDC connection as well as 110/240 VAC connection. Where connected to 24 VDC supply, programmable dual transistor outputs are provided and where connected to 110/240 VAC programmable dual relay outputs are supplied. This Laser Distance Sensor incorporates a built in air purge and hence is an ideal device for measuring level on silos, detection of product on production line or control of crane positioning as well as collision avoidance. This is an exceptionally low cost Laser Distance Meter Sensor.
