LD A Laser Distance Scanner
360° Long Distance Measurement
The LDA offers is designed for two dimensional (2D) measurement applications over long distances. Measurement may be made off natural targets at distances of 100m and off co-operative targets (eg: 3M foil) at distances of up to more than 300m.
The LDA Scanner uses the Time of Flight (ToF) measurement method to calibrate target range and couples the range measurement with angle measurement to create a polar co-ordinate position. A complete circular profile is created as the LDA head rotates a full 360° at a rate of 10Hz.
As an option, the LD A contains an integrated DSP processor allowing on-line profile evaluation and interfacing over a special CAN bus I/F. The DSP can be programmed to support form, volume and movement applications.
The LD A covers an area within a 40m radius off dark targets (eg: walls of tunnels), and 100m on to light targets over an angular range of up to 360°. Where self-test is required, the angular range is limited to 300° to allow a 60° internal self-test check area.
